About the studio

Designed for your most important moments

Date un Date — Luxury Events is a boutique event styling and décor studio based in Victoria, BC.

Our story

A passion for the moments that matter

Date un Date was born from a passion for transforming special moments into carefully designed experiences. Over time it grew into an event décor and design studio focused on elegant, personalised and memorable celebrations.

Today we style weddings, proposals, luxury celebrations, showers and gender reveals, baptisms and corporate events across Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island — always around your story and your colours. The studio is bilingual, so we can plan with you in English or Spanish.

What we care about

How we work

One event at a time

We limit bookings per day so your set-up gets our full attention — arrival, styling and teardown.

Reusable by design

We favour dried florals, quality rentals and pieces we clean and re-style — beautiful with less waste.

Local knowledge

We know the venues, the outdoor spots, which parks need a permit and how the light falls in the evening.

Your palette, always

Linens, florals and signage are chosen to your colours — nothing off-the-shelf.

Where we go

Service area

We work throughout Greater Victoria and the surrounding area. Sooke, the Cowichan Valley and other parts of Vancouver Island are welcome too, subject to availability, with a travel charge added when it applies.

Frequently asked

How do I book?
Send an enquiry with your date and vision. We reply with a styled proposal and quote. Once you approve it, you sign a short service agreement and pay a deposit — then your date is confirmed. The full process is on the Booking & policies page.
How far ahead should I book?
As a guide, 2–4 weeks works well for smaller celebrations, proposals and picnics, and 3–6 months or more for weddings and larger events. It's not a hard rule — last-minute requests are welcome, subject to availability, and a rush fee may apply when notice is short.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. We generally take 50% to reserve your date and the remaining 50% before the event. Your date is held once the agreement is signed and the deposit is paid. Payment dates are set out in your agreement.
What happens if it rains?
For outdoor events we work with you to find the best available option — moving the set-up to a covered space, adjusting the location, or rescheduling where the type of event allows. We confirm a plan with you as the date approaches.
What is your cancellation policy?
It depends on the event. Weddings and large events, which are held months ahead with significant preparation, need more notice to be eligible for any refund under the agreement (roughly 2–3 months before). Smaller events — proposals, romantic picnics, small celebrations — need at least 2 weeks' notice. Refunds are never automatically 100%: deposits, custom or personalised items, purchased materials and completed design work are non-refundable. Your agreement states exactly what is and isn't refundable. See Booking & policies.
Do we need a permit for a park or beach?
Many Victoria and CRD parks require a park-use permit for a styled set-up. We help arrange it where possible; some locations need a couple of weeks' notice, which is one reason we ask for your location early.
Do you provide food?
We style rather than cater. You can add a grazing board, cake or bubbly through our suppliers, or arrange your own food and drink for the event.
What if my guest count changes?
Let us know as early as you can — up to 7 days before we can usually adjust the set-up and the quote. Changes are made as a written update to your agreement and may affect the price.
Can we plan in Spanish?
Yes — the studio is bilingual. Podemos planear tu evento en español o en inglés.
